Clostridium perfringens toxin test

18.00 excl. VAT

Clostridium perfringens is a type of bacteria that normally lives in the intestines of many animals, including dogs and cats. In some cases, it can produce harmful substances called toxins that upset the digestive system and can cause diarrhea. This test looks for the enterotoxin in your pet’s stool.
Expected Turnaround Time: 1-2 days

  • Some pets carry C. perfringens without getting sick, so just finding the bacteria isn’t enough — we need to check if the toxin is present.
  • A fresh stool sample from your pet in a sterile/clean container.
  • In the event of a positive C. perfringens toxin test, we advise contacting your vet for treatment options.
